Three questions worth answering before you buy anything
Do you need to learn the content, or practice it?
These are different problems. If you can explain why an answer is right, you need questions. If you cannot, more questions will only tell you your score without changing it. Buying a question bank when you need instruction is the most common wasted purchase in this category.
How long until your test date?
A subscription makes sense if you are testing in the next few weeks. If your date is four months out or might move, a subscription can quietly cost more than a one-time purchase, and the pressure of a renewal date is not the pressure you want.
Which section is actually failing you?
If you have taken the TEAS before, your score report already answers this. Single-subject materials are cheaper and faster than starting over with a full guide.
The Official ATI TEAS Study Guide
$19.99 as an eBook, $24.99 in print. Around 620 practice questions.
This is the only guide written by the company that writes the exam, and that is a real advantage: the wording, the question formats, and the way concepts are framed all come from the source. If you want to know what the test looks like, this is the most direct answer available.
It is also the cheapest entry point on this list.
The limitations are volume and terms. 620 questions is the smallest count here, so it works better as content review than as practice. The eBook expires four years after purchase. Sales are final. And print copies ship, which matters if your test is next week.
ATI also sells packages at $99 and $199 that bundle practice tests, flashcards and a tutorial. The $199 package carries around 3,990 questions — the largest number in this comparison, at the highest price.
Worth buying if: you want the test maker's own framing, or you are on a tight budget.
Mometrix ATI TEAS Secrets
$29.99 as an eBook, $34.99 in print. 1,000+ practice questions, six full-length tests, and 180+ video tutorials across 446 pages.
Mometrix is the most established third-party publisher in this category, and their review volume reflects it — 4.7 stars from more than 5,300 reviews. The book is available on Amazon, Walmart and eBay, and it appears in a lot of college library guides.
Their strongest feature is one nobody else offers: a one-year, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee on the book. For a student who is uncertain whether any of this will help, that removes the risk entirely.
The common criticism is density. Several students have told us they found it overwhelming and switched to something with more explanation and less compression. That is a preference rather than a flaw — some students want everything in one place.
They also run an online course at $79.99 per month with around 2,680 questions and 13 practice tests. Note the guarantee on that is seven days, not a year, and it renews monthly until cancelled.
Worth buying if: you want a physical book, or you want the safety net of a long guarantee.
NurseHub
$29.99 per month, or $59.99 per quarter. One subscription covers both the ATI TEAS and the HESI A2.
Their free tier is the most generous in this category and is genuinely worth using: 170 free practice questions with explanations and a score report, no payment required. If you want to find out where you stand before spending anything, start there.
The paid subscription adds a full question bank, progress tracking and a nursing school course library. For a student who is testing soon and wants everything in one place, the quarterly option is reasonably priced.
Two cautions. Published question counts vary across their own pages, so it is hard to know exactly what you are getting. And a subscription only makes sense if your test date holds — if it slips, you keep paying.
Worth buying if: you are testing for both the TEAS and the HESI, or you want a free starting point.
FutureRN
Subscription, monthly or quarterly. 1,450+ practice questions, 1,500+ science flashcards with mobile apps, live weekly sessions, and a built-in AI tutor.
This is the most personality-led option. Teacher Amy Weinberg teaches the material herself and goes live twice a week, and their students talk about the access to a online teacher more than any other feature. If you learn better from a person and AI, that is the differentiator.
The flashcard apps are also genuinely good and the only native mobile option here.
Question volume is the lowest on this list, so it leans toward instruction rather than drilling. And as with any subscription, cost scales with how long your preparation takes.
Worth buying if: you want live practicing, or you study better with flashcards on your phone.
Nurse Cheung
One-time purchases. The Complete ATI TEAS 7 Study Guide is $50 for 264 pages covering all four sections. The Practice Question Bank is $50 for 3,515 questions across four files. Practice Tests are $25 for four full-length exams. The Comprehensive PowerPoint is $20 for 658 slides.
Our approach is reasoning over memorization — explaining why an answer is right so that unfamiliar wording on test day does not derail you. Science gets the most attention, at 111 of the guide's 231 instructional pages, because Science is where most students lose the most points.
The question bank is the largest single count in this comparison at 3,515, sorted by sub-topic rather than shuffled, so a wrong answer tells you what to study. Everything is one-time purchase with no subscription, and it is delivered instantly as a PDF.
Three honest limitations. We do not offer a money-back guarantee — all sales are final on digital downloads. We do not sell flashcards, and every other option here does. And everything is digital, so if you want a bound book to carry around, we are not it.
Access is for the life of ATI TEAS Version 7. If ATI moves to Version 8, a new edition would be a separate purchase.
Worth buying if: you need the concepts explained rather than just practiced, or you want the most practice questions without a subscription.

What no study guide can do for you
Something worth saying plainly, since every page in this category is trying to sell you something.
No guide passes the TEAS. The students who improve most are not the ones who bought the most expensive resource — they are the ones who found out exactly which sub-topics were costing them points and worked on those specifically. We have watched students go from a 52 to a 75, and from a 68 to an 84.7, and in every case the change was in what they studied, not how much they spent.
If you have taken the TEAS before, your score report is more valuable than anything on this page. Start there.
And if you are not ready to buy anything at all, there are hundreds of free TEAS lessons on YouTube — ours and other people's. A student with a free video library and a clear plan will beat a student with an expensive guide and no plan, every time.
The bottom line
There is no single best ATI TEAS study guide, because students arrive with different problems.
Buy the official ATI guide if you want the test maker's own framing. Buy Mometrix if you want a printed book with a guarantee behind it. Use NurseHub if you are preparing for both exams or want a free start.
And if what you need is the concepts explained clearly, with enough practice questions to prove you have them, that is what we built.
