Nursing School Bootcamp: Phase II
A structured 88-page guide designed to support accepted nursing students through their first semester by teaching them how to think like a nurse, master NCLEX-style questions, and survive clinicals.
Your First-Semester Roadmap Stop Memorizing. Start Thinking Like a Nurse. The transition from prerequisites to your first day of nursing school is a massive academic shock. You are no longer being asked "what is this?"—you are being asked "what would you do first, and why?".
Nursing School Bootcamp – Phase II is a structured digital guide designed to help you navigate Fundamentals, Skills Lab, and Clinicals without the meltdown. Created by Jennifer Cheung, MSN, RN, CCRN, a Critical Care Nurse Educator.
This guide addresses the "hidden curriculum" of nursing school. It replaces the overwhelm of 400-page textbooks with a clear, strategic operating system for clinical reasoning, test-taking, and patient safety.
📘 What This Bootcamp Covers This 88-page digital guide is broken down into four strategic first-semester survival modules:
- Orientation & Syllabus Strategy (Module 13): Stop panic-buying. Learn exactly what gear is actually required (shoes, stethoscopes, laptops) and how to map the "High-Risk Zones" of your syllabus so you know exactly how your grade is built.
- The C.A.R.E. Framework (Modules 14 & 15): Stop reading textbooks cover-to-cover. Learn the exact 4-step framework (Concept, Assessment, Response, Evaluation) to master complex pathophysiology and pharmacology without drowning.
- Clinical & Skills Lab Survival (Modules 16 & 17): Stop feeling like a "Baby Deer." Master the Simulation Lab phases (Pre-brief, Sim, Debrief), learn exactly what to research the night before clinicals, and execute perfect SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) communication.
- Decoding "Weird" Nursing Questions (Module 18): Master the core prioritization frameworks (ABCs, Maslow, ADPIE) to beat Next-Gen NCLEX questions, conquer SATA (Select All That Apply) traps, and eliminate unsafe answers.
- Semester Reset & Contingency Planning (Modules 19 & 20): A step-by-step recovery plan for identifying academic leaks, recovering from a failed exam, and professionally advocating for yourself without burning bridges.
👩⚕️ Who This Is For
- The Newly Accepted: Students who start nursing school soon and want to walk into Fundamentals fully prepared.
- The First-Semester Student: Anyone currently drowning in nursing questions who needs to learn how to study efficiently using active recall and spaced repetition.
- The Struggling Student: Those who need a "Semester Reset" to recover a failing grade before finals.
🚫 Who This Is NOT For
- Pre-Nursing Applicants: If you haven't taken the TEAS or applied yet, you need Phase I. (Phase II assumes you are already accepted into a program).
- Students Looking for a Textbook: This is NOT a complete Medical-Surgical or Pharmacology textbook. It is a strategy and reasoning guide designed to teach you how to study those subjects.
